Industry: Data & Analytics / Commodity Insights
Scope: Global data platform delivering market intelligence to enterprises, corporations, and governments
A global commodity intelligence and analytics provider had already transformed its data into AI-ready formats, but customers still faced significant barriers in turning that data into day-to-day decision support. Accessing complex commodities intelligence often required manual report retrieval, navigation across multiple interfaces, or technical effort that slowed analysis and limited usability across broader business teams.
This created a disconnect between the availability of high-value data and the speed at which customers could operationalize it. Users needed a simpler way to surface relevant insights, compare scenarios, and interact with trusted market intelligence directly inside the tools they already used.
At the same time, the organization needed to maintain strict commercial controls over entitled content and ensure that data access remained aligned with subscription, security, and governance requirements. The challenge was not simply exposing more data. It was creating a secure, scalable, and low-friction access model that embedded AI-ready intelligence directly into enterprise workflows.
To remove workflow friction and simplify access to AI-ready commodities intelligence, Futran designed and implemented a secure Copilot-based access layer within the Microsoft 365 environment.
Using Microsoft Copilot Agent Builder, Futran developed a declarative Copilot agent that enabled users to query trusted market intelligence through natural language prompts inside Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Graph connectors were implemented to connect external data sources into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem while enforcing access controls aligned with user entitlements, subscription models, and security requirements.
This approach eliminated the need for users to download reports, navigate separate systems, or rely on custom-built interfaces to retrieve insights. Instead, critical commodities data could be surfaced directly inside familiar workflows, allowing users to compare market conditions, summarize intelligence, and evaluate scenarios without leaving their collaboration environment.
The solution was designed for interoperability, security, and scale across Microsoft 365. By embedding AI-ready data into an already adopted productivity layer, the organization moved from static data delivery to a more intelligent, conversational model for enterprise insight consumption.
To operationalize AI-ready data access within a secure enterprise environment, Futran followed a structured implementation approach:
Built a scenario-specific Copilot agent using Microsoft Copilot Agent Builder to support natural language interaction with trusted commodities intelligence
Implemented Microsoft Graph connectors to index and expose external data sources within Microsoft 365 Copilot while preserving enterprise access controls
Integrated the experience into Microsoft Teams so users could retrieve and work with market intelligence directly inside existing collaboration workflows
Configured access to ensure users could surface only the data they were entitled to consume, aligned with commercial subscription models and security requirements
Enabled non-technical users to access and analyze AI-ready datasets without building custom interfaces
Aligned the solution with Microsoft 365 workflows already used by customers, reducing change friction and accelerating practical adoption
The AI-driven data access model materially reduced the time required for users to surface, compare, and act on complex commodities intelligence inside their existing Microsoft workflow.
By enabling natural language access through Microsoft Copilot, users could retrieve relevant data in a fraction of the time previously required for manual search, report downloads, or custom data access workflows.
Users were able to evaluate multiple data points, compare market conditions, and assess scenarios far more quickly without switching tools or manually assembling supporting information.
Embedding enterprise data directly into Microsoft 365 significantly accelerated the time required to reach decision-ready insight across day-to-day analytical workflows.
The solution removed the need for customers to build custom interfaces or rely on technical expertise to work with AI-ready commodities data.
Users could access entitled data from a single familiar workspace, with Microsoft Graph connectors supporting access controls aligned with subscription and security requirements.
